Not sure if you have been watching Mary Queen of Shops, if you haven’t you should. It is a really good watch, you can catch it here Well it is great viewing for me as i am constantly walking along thinking of how i could make time to improve the local corner shop or butchers branding strategy. So i find it really interesting watching a lady do what i am soooo interested in. Retail design/branding, but with depth and for THE PEOPLE rather than being self indulgent.
I was recently offered my dream job working with Rosarie King for Mary Portas at Yellow Door, but unfortunately had to turn it down due to being pregnant.
Hopefully in the future i will get the opportunity to work with both Mary and Rosarie as they are both amazing lovely ladies, and i really believe in what they do.

Another day another dollar
Posted by JennyIm currently working on a billion pound retail project, with alot of meetings and brainstorms involved! And of course bucket loads of strategy, which always reminds me how much I think in pictures ( too many words make my brain ache) and suprisingly enough so do most clients, as I have noticed mote recently than ever. This is great news for me as I get to do all the research and make the strategy look interesting and aspiring. As well as come up with exciting concepts!!!
Never underestimate the power of pictures!! Even though the camera does lie!! Hence why I end up taking pictures during brainstorms. I just cant help myself

Posted by JennyIm working on a big branding project at the mo, lots of learning and exploring! Bit like climbing Everest without moving. As much as i love designing, brain storming and idea generation, i also love being given a chunky branding project. Branding is more observational and involves looking deep into consumer behaviour. I love watching people especially when i am in a more thoughtful, (sit back and observe frame of mind ), and this part of the project always results in better design work, as you end up knowing exactly what the customer wants!!!
For years after University i always wondered what the difference was between design agencies, advertising agencies, branding agencies etc. But now that i am older, wiser and experienced in all fields, i now totally understand. Which is nice as i hate not knowing!!!!
This is my desk, the building Im sat in and the screen Im staring at, just incase you were wondering
